It’s that time of year again—time to plan for all the incredible quilting and embroidery clubs and events at Thimbles in 2024!
We have a lot of incredible virtual and in-store events for 2024. Some last a weekend or a day, some continue for months, some are year-long events. Each is designed to expand your embroidery and/or quilting skills or engage your machines and creativity in fun and exciting projects. Our clubs and events are one of our favorite holiday gifts to give to a favorite quilter*.
*You are allowed to be your own favorite quilter!!
But before we review our quilting and embroidery clubs and events for 2024, let’s talk about some very special projects and kits. We are only taking registrations and pre-orders for these until November 25th, so don’t wait!
Tula Pink Roar! Kits
We’re currently accepting pre-orders for 3 Tula Pink quilt kits that feature her new, upcoming Roar! fabric line. They are (above left-right) the Book Nerd Quilt in the Cosmic Colorway, the Jurassic Party Quilt, and the Book Nerd Quilt in the Lilypad Colorway.
The Book Nerd Quilts measure 54” x 66” and the Jurassic Party Quilt measures 82” x 102”. All quilt kits include the pattern, fabric and binding for the top, and will arrive at Thimbles in April 2024.
Kaffe Fassett Mystery Quilt
Registration is now open for the 2024 Kaffe Fassett Mystery Quilt Program! We’re accepting sign ups from now until November 25. Choose between the Delft (above, top right) or Multi (above, bottom right) colorways. The quilt is NOT a puzzle piece quilt; the puzzle term is illustrative of the journey you’ll take while making this mystery quilt. Kits will arrive in July 2024 and you can choose to pick up your kit in store or have it shipped.
The Kaffe Fassett Mystery Quilt will measure 76” x 76” and involve advanced beginner techniques. The kit includes Kaffe Fassett Collective fabrics for quilt top and binding. The pattern builds blocks to create a multifaceted original quilt designed by Kaffe Fassett or Liza Lucy using 7 puzzle pieces, which will be released every other week over 4 months.

Kimberbell Embroidery of the Month Club 2024 - All Year
Kimberbell Embroidery of the Month Club is back with 12 new dealer exclusive projects!
Join before December 31 to save 32% on membership. Our Kimberbell club is very flexible. We meet once monthly, usually in the last week of the month, and you can join us on Thursday or Saturday—whatever works for your schedule. No need to bring your machine, either. We hold a short presentation and demonstration, and afterwards project kits will be available to purchase. If you have to miss one of our dates, don’t worry! We hold your patterns for you to pick up at your earliest convenience.
You can bring your current embroidery project for show and tell and there’s lots of discussion where we share tips and tricks to make your machine embroidery even better. And, Kimberbell club members can take 15% off ALL Kimberbell products, ALL year long!

Sleep in Your Own Bed Retreat - January (May dates forthcoming)
We still have a few spaces open for our next Sleep in Your Own Bed Retreat, but the event is filling up fast! Come to Thimbles January 8-11, bring your machine, and quilt with us all day! We provide space with ironing boards and provide lunch and dinner every day. These retreats are always a lot of fun and our quilters wind up getting a lot of projects finished. If you have a few projects you need to finish as a new year's resolution, this event is for you!
We host these retreats throughout the year, so keep checking back to see when the next retreat opens up. Right now we’re eyeing May 2024…
Kimberbell Easter Tier Tray 2-Day Event - January
Join us on January 20 + 21 from 9:30 am - 3:30 pm for the Kimberbell Easter Tier Tray 2-Day Event. In this machine embroidery event attendees will work on a beautiful seasonal display that involves 8 projects to display on the included 3-tier tray. In addition to the 8 projects, students will also go home with 4 additional projects to work on later. Registration includes a Kimberbell event kit with all the fabrics, embellishments, designs and step-by-step printed instructions, as well as everything needed to create the additional projects! Kits can be picked up or shipped for an additional cost.

Thimbles Clubhouse 2024 - Windsong - All Year
Clubhouse is back in 2024 and we’re making the Windsong Quilt. This Block of the Month Quilt uses Tonga Batiks from Timeless Treasures Fabrics, and the 13 chosen fabric represent the colors of the season. The Windsong Quilt measures 108” square and uses traditional piecing techniques perfect for a confident beginner quilter.
While Thimbles Clubhouse is based on the familiar and fun Block of the Month concept, it’s SO MUCH MORE than that. We meet every month for show and tell and lively discussions, we serve refreshments, and there are always door prizes and lots of fun to be had. There are also ALWAYS extra projects that are exclusive to the club. Membership is also really flexible—you can choose to be a “club only” member, which means you don’t make the quilt, but you do come to the events and get the extra suprise projects!

Crimson Shadows Block of the Month - Starts February, Runs All Year
The Crimson Shadows BOM launches in February and runs for 10 months in 2024. Using the beautiful fabrics from Wilmington Prints ESSENTIALS, the finished quilt measures 92" x 102" and features a variety of blocks.
