Fall is here and it’s a wonderful time to spruce up the home with fall decor. We have lots of new fall fabrics and kits in store to inspire, and to help get you started, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite projects available for free online!
First up: Halloween! We know Halloween is just around the corner, so we promise these are quick...
Halloween Mini-Treat Bags
Grab some spooky fat quarters (we recommend our Kimberbell’s Hometown Halloween Fat Quarter Bundles) and you’ll have these cute mini-treat bags in no time! We love that the kids can re-use them to hold things like crayons and erasers even after the holiday is over. It’s a cute, thoughtful upgrade on the standard trick-or-treat fare.

Spider Web Door Banner
These are the spiders we like to see—made entirely out of plastic. All you need for this safely creepy decor is a handful of plastic or rubber spiders, a yard of orange fabric (we recommend any of these spider web fabrics to really up the spider factor!), and some fuzzy black yarn. If you choose a fabric pre-printed with a web pattern like the ones we linked above, you can skip the web design and just hang your spiders! Simple and quick.

Cat Halloween Pillow
This pillow is sew cute! Again, you can make this a really quick project by modifying a pre-existing pillow in your house—all you need is some fusible fleece and some good tracing skills. If, however, you’d like to start from scratch, we recommend checking out the black fabric we have in stock. Now, on to fall decor and Thanksgiving!
Autumn Napkin
There’s something sew satsifying about setting the perfect table for Thanksgiving, so you’ll notice a common theme in these next few projects. These Autumn Napkins from All People Quilt are a really lovely way to breathe new life into a set of cloth napkins with a little thoughtful applique.

Fall Leaves Coasters
Sprinkle these across table tops to feel as if a maple tree has scattered its autumn bounty directly in your home. Made from brightly colored and expertly cut felt, these beauties are simple but visually stunning. We think pairing Kimberbell’s Embroidery Felt in Cherry Red and Gingerbread would make a gorgeous set of leaves.

Give Thanks Table Runner
This fetching table runner will take you through the autumn season and straight into Thanksgiving. The middle panel with its ring of leaves and acorns is perfect for showcasing a centerpiece on the table, and the end panels are great for highlighting autumnal scraps of fabric. Fall Foliage Paper Pieced Placemat
Flex those paper piecing muscles with the Fall Foliage Paper Pieced Placemat. Another great fabric scrap buster, you can make each placemat a little different by switching up the fabrics you use for the leaves and acorns. This beginner project is great for using up scraps and practicing your paper piecing skills.

We saved this cutie patootie for last! The Pumpkin Napkin Ring is such a cute, fun way to dress up your napkins and can be sewn up in a pinch. It’s worked entirely in the hoop of your embroidery machine.
